Antitumor platinum(II) complexes of N-monoalkyl-1R, 2R-diaminocyclohexane derivatives with alkyl groups as hindrance

► Novel platinum(II) complexes containing steric ligands were designed and evaluated. ► Antitumor activity had a close relationship with the shape of alkyl groups. ► One of the novel compounds possessed a potent antitumor effect and low toxicity in vivo. ► The active compound may have a different antitumor mechanism from oxaliplatin.
