Structure and vibrational spectroscopic study of phthalimido-functionalized N-heterocyclic palladium complexes. Correlations between structure and catalytic activity

Phthalimido-functionalized N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) palladium (II) complex has been studied with the use of modern vibrational spectroscopy and DFT calculations. The NHC as strong σ-donor is enhanced the PdCl bond and simultaneously weekend the coordination of the weak σ-donor acetonitrile and in this way two easy releasing ligands are provided.60
