Synthesis and characterization of silver and gold NHC complexes: Crystal structures and mass spectral studies

Gas phase chemistry and crystal structures of silver and gold complexes with N-hetrocyclic carbenes were investigated. We generated a species [Au(SBzlCy)(PhC≡C)] which is an intermediate of carboxylation and hydration of terminal alkynes by the coordination of phenyl acetylene to the charge-tag containing gold complex in gas phase.
