Synthesis and characterization of TiC nanopowders via sol-gel and subsequent carbothermal reduction process

TiC nanocrystalline powders were synthesized by in-situ carbothermic reduction of Ti-O-C precursor under vacuum atmosphere. The results show that TiC nanopowders synthesized under optimal conditions have well crystallinity and the average grain size is about 37.4 nm.216
