Neutron diffraction studies on structural and magnetic properties of RE2NiGe3 (RE=La, Ce)

The compounds La2NiGe3 and Ce2NiGe3 crystallize in the Er2RhSi3 type. Magnetic susceptibility show antiferromagnetic ordering for Ce2NiGe3 at 3.2 K and neutron diffraction confirms the absence of long range ordering.
