Effect of Gd substitution on the structure and magnetic properties of YFeO3 ceramics

► Y1−xGdxFeO3 (0≤x≤1) ceramics were synthesized by solid state reaction method. ► Y1−xGdxFeO3 (0≤x≤1) samples are ferromagnetic ordering at room temperature. ► Results of 57Fe Mössbauer spectra are typical for Fe3+ high spin state. ► Substitution of Y3+ ions by Gd3+ ions enhances the magnetization of YFeO3 obviously.
