A complete characterization of the vibrational spectra of sucrose

► For sucrose, a complete assignment of the 129 vibration normal modes is proposed. ► The glucopyran and glucofuran rings were studied by means of NBO and AIM analyses. ► The SQM/B3LYP/6-31G* force field was obtained for sucrose. ► An agreement between theoretical and available experimental results was found.
