Carbon-14 transfer into potato plants following a short exposure to an atmospheric 14CO2 emission: observations and model predictions

► A model test with experimental data on potato exposed to 14C is provided. ► It is analysed an acute exposure at various plant development stages. ► Variability of 14C concentration in plants grown in natural conditions is large. ► Compensatory errors of the models were emphasized. ► The modelling for carbon respiration and translocation must be improved.
