Identification of transcriptional regulatory elements required for the Mup2 expression in circadian clock mutant mice

► Suprachiasmatic nuclei in the mammalian brain coordinate the circadian rhythms in peripheral organs. ► We investigated whether loss of circadian clock gene, mPeriod2 and glucocorticoid signaling would influence the Mup2 expression in the mouse liver and in cell lines. ► There were changes in the phase of the rhythm among mouse genotypes. ► We identified two E-boxes and a glucocorticoid response element as regulatory elements for the Mup2 gene expression in mice.
