Photosynthetic characteristics and the response of stomata to environmental determinants and ABA in Selaginella bryopteris, a resurrection spike moss species

► S. bryopteris show broad temperature optima for photosynthesis from 28 °C to 37 °C. ► Stomata are insensitive to ABA. ► Stomata poorly regulated in response to light, high CO2, VPD and temperature. ► Unable to restrict transpiration resulting in lack of capacity to optimize WUE.
