Expression, purification, and initial structural characterization of nonstructural protein 2B, an integral membrane protein of Dengue-2 virus, in detergent micelles

► Membrane protein-NS2B from Dengue-2 virus was expressed and purified from Escherichia coli. ► Full length NS2B was able to increase solubility of NS3pro in E. coli. ► CD and NMR showed purified protein adopt alpha-helical structures in LMPG and TDPC micelles. ► NMR experiments showed its feasibility for structural study on NS2B.
