Survivability of Penaeus monodon during white spot syndrome virus infection and its correlation with immune related genes

► Immune gene expression of Penaeus monodon was monitored following WSSV infection. ► Survivability of the animals was correlated with the immune gene expression level. ► Five genes found to have higher expression in survived animals. ► Gene expression level can be used as a biomarker for selecting broodstocks.
