Management and its relation to hybridization, clonality and genetic structure of the Mexican palm Brahea dulcis

► We examined changes at the molecular level of a traditionally-managed palm species. ► Traditional management of Brahea dulcis increases its genetic diversity. ► In managed palm populations natural hybridization was detected. ► Different management regimes of B. dulcis promote its clonal growth.
