Preservation of swallowing function with de-intensified chemoradiation therapy for HPV-associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma

Compared with 7 weeks of 70 Gy, 6 weeks of 60 Gy de-intensified chemoradiation therapy appears to better preserve the baseline swallowing function (per objective modified barium swallow assessment). Patients treated with de-intensified chemoradiation therapy reported minimal changes in swallowing function.
