Improved rectal dosimetry with the use of SpaceOAR during high-dose-rate brachytherapy

Transperineal insertion of SpaceOAR hydrogel at the time of HDR brachytherapy is feasible and decreases rectal radiation dose. Further investigation is needed to assess the clinical impact of this dosimetric improvement and potential toxicity reduction.
