Interventions préventives en périnatalité : illustrations de terrain

RésuméLes deux études de cas présentées tentent d’illustrer la diversité et la complémentarité des missions proposées par l’action préventive dans deux situations sociales différentes. Les objectifs de prévention, de guidance et de soutien émotionnel se conjuguent à une adaptation du psychologue qui doit composer avec les caractéristiques psychiques et émotionnelles de la mère. Le cadre particulier que constitue le domicile demande également un ajustement permanent de la part du professionnel pour créer une alliance de travail, tout en offrant la possibilité d’être au plus près des conditions de vie de la mère et de son enfant. L’histoire de Fatou, mère adolescente au narcissisme fragile, et celle de Madeleine, jeune mère isolée d’un nourrisson prématuré proposent un aperçu du travail mis en place dans le cadre d’une recherche-action pour favoriser les interactions mère-bébé, contenir les risques éventuels de dépression du post-partum et mobiliser des ressources proposées par l’environnement, psychosocial et/ou familial.

We present two case studies that illustrate how diverse yet complementary missions preventive action may achieve/offer in two different social contexts. The psychologist, while keeping in mind the objectives of prevention, guidance and emotional support, must adapt to the psychological and emotional characteristics of the mother. Intervening at home also requires a continuous adjustment from the psychologist in order to create a dynamic relationship with the patient and offers the possibility to observe from the inside the living conditions of the mother and her child. We apply the method of “research in action” to the story of Fatou, a teenage mother with a fragile narcissism, and that of Madeleine, young single mother of a premature infant, to show how the psychologist may work towards fostering the interactions between the mother and her baby, mitigating the possible risk of baby blues, and mobilising the resources that can be readily found in the psychological, social and family environment.
