Terminologie en imagerie dynamique avec injection d'agent de contraste (DCE)

Dynamic contrast enhanced imaging is a new technique developed in CT and MRI. It is used in research protocols and also for tissue characterization, particularly in ENT pathology. It gives us new imaging data: time intensity-curves, which reflect tissue enhancement. The analysis of theses curves can be qualitative, semi-quantitative or quantitative with extraction of functional parameters that characterize the tissue microvascularization. The terms observed in the literature concerning these functional parameters are variable and difficult to compare with each other, due to the diversity of data acquisition techniques and softwares used to calculate functional parameters. Knowledge of these terms and their significance is necessary for a proper interpretation of the literature data and for the comparison of the study results. It is also the first step towards a homogenization of the techniques and terms used, which will allow the development of radiomics and radiogenomics.
