Evaluación mediante PET-TC de la respuesta al tratamiento selectivo de metástasis hepáticas en pacientes con cáncer de colon. Presentación de tres casos

We report three cases of patients with adenocarcinoma of the colon with selectively treated (radiofrequency ablation, intra-arterial chemotherapy, and intra-arterial Yttrium-90 microspheres) liver metastases studied with PET-CT. This technique enabled early detection of the persistence and/or recurrence of viable tumor tissue through increased metabolic uptake of fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG). PET-CT seems to have a significant impact on the clinical management of patients with selectively treated liver metastases.
