Nanoscience: The quantum frontier

This overview begins with some historical comments and then describes some recent work on theoretical and experimental nanoscience advances. The focus is mainly on nanotubes and fullerenes. Electronic, optical, structural, mechanical, and superconducting properties of these systems are discussed.
