Modelling heterozygote balance in forensic DNA profiles

In this paper we investigate the relationship between heterozygous balance (h  ) and average peak height (ϕ¯) in a set of Identifiler™ data. The mean of heterozygote balance is unaffected by average peak height but the variance about this mean is much lower at high average peak heights.
