Children of illegal migrant workers: Life circumstances and mental health

► Little is known about the development of children of illegal migrant workers. ► Recognizing this need, a study collecting data about this population is presented. ► Life events and mental health indicators were compared for three groups of children. ► Group differences on ethnic identity and on negative life events were found. ► A positive relation was found between life events and psychological difficulties.
