Patients with a brain tumor and their families experience great suffering. They must cope with successive mornings related to the progressive loss of higher functions. Any defect in the medical coordination of palliative home care can aggravate such suffering. A well-coordinated comprehensive approach must focus on the information given to the patient and the family and on the daily management of care. Complications, for example perturbed consciousness or behavior disorders, may create emergency situations. Such situations must be anticipated. The families must not be left alone to cope with such critical events. There are solutions which must be analyzed on a case by case basis and coordinated by a physician.
