Palliative care necessarily involves a political component defined as the group of elements which coordinate and control power relations. Faced with the reality of death, the policy of palliative care is composed of social, institutional, and clinical dimensions. Consequently, palliative care questions the power of medicine as an expression of knowledge, truth, and belief. Palliative care must be examined in light of what is transmissible beyond the notions of teaching and learning.
