Adoption is a form of specific and complex parenthood. It shows the importance of the process of attachment and the development of early interactions between the baby and the child with his parents or nursing adults. The attachment-process conduces to the construction of the SELF and of child's identity by the process of cultural and emotional double-affiliation to the biological and foster family.
