Intercalation of cyclic ketones into vanadyl phosphate

Intercalation compounds of vanadyl phosphate with cyclic ketones were prepared and characterized using powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis and vibrational spectra. On the basis of quantum chemical calculations the arrangement of cyclopentanone molecules in the interlayer space of vanadyl phosphate has been suggested.
