Synthesis and evaluation of N-((1-benzyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methyl)nicotinamides as potential anticancer agents that inhibit tubulin polymerization

A series of nicotinamides was synthesized and evaluated for their anticancer potential against a panel of 60 human cancer cell lines by NCI. Some of the representative compounds like 4g and 4i displayed good antiproliferative activity against MCF-7 cell line by inhibiting tubulin polymerization and these compounds induced apoptosis.
