Stability of spinning satellite under axial thrust and internal mass motion

► The paper studies a spinning rigid body under axial thrust and internal motion. ► Its stability is investigated by using linearized equations about a uniform spin. ► We show that the envelope of the stationary solutions is the stability boundary. ► New parametrizations of the stability boundary provide valuable new insights. ► The model is demonstrated by the actual parameters of ESA's Ulysses satellite.
