Uranium uptake by hydroponically cultivated crop plants

► The uranium accumulation in twenty different plant species varied from 0.160 to 0.011 mg/g DW. ► Uranium is mainly localized in the root system. ► Tartaric acid was able to increase uranium uptake by Brassica oleracea and Sinapis alba. ► The phosphates deficiency increase the uranium uptake.
