Study of scattering characteristics of lunar equatorial region using Chandrayaan-1 Mini-SAR polarimetric data

► Polarimetric properties of the 12.6 cm-wavelength radar backscatter from the Moon were analyzed. ► A catalog of radar backscatter properties was created for several geological units. ► Some of the crater deposits have high values of circular polarization ratio around 3. ► A new method was discussed to distinguish craters of different origin and (or) composition.
