Spatial structure and stability of coupled Alfvén and drift compressional modes in non-uniform magnetosphere: Gyrokinetic treatment

► Coupling with Alfvén mode causes a resonance for the drift compressional mode. ► The total structure of the wave field comprises two transparent regions, one for the Alfvén mode and the other for the drift compressional mode. ► Growth rates for both modes are calculated with the coupling taken into account.
