Automated identification of basalt spectra in Clementine lunar data

► Finding fresh basalt spectra in Clementine multispectral data is time consuming. ► We developed an automated method for identifying spectra of fresh basalt minerals. ► The algorithm has an error of 4.5% in the study area. ► Results are consistent with expectations and previous work. ► Potential for identifying subsurface basalts on the Moon.
