Analgesic, anticonvulsant and antioxidant activities of 3-[4-(3-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-piperazin-1-yl]-dihydrofuran-2-one dihydrochloride in mice

► The investigated compound (LPP1) is a γ-butyrolactone derivative. ► Its analgesic, anticonvulsant and antioxidant activities as well as its toxicity were tested. ► The receptor profiling and its plasma level were also investigated. ► This compound is analgesic, anticonvulsant and rapidly converts to unknown metabolite(s). ► These metabolites are likely to be responsible for its pharmacological activity.
