Over-expression of a grape stilbene synthase gene in tomato induces parthenocarpy and causes abnormal pollen development

► Stilbene synthase gene expression in tomato resulted parthenocarpic fruits. ► Abnormal pollen development was due to synthesis of resveratrol in tomato flower tissues. ► The impairment of naringenin, coumaric and ferulic acids synthesis, caused parthenocarpy in tomato.
