The impact of differential uptake of HPV vaccine by sexual risks on health inequalities: A model-based analysis

► Significant inequalities exist in the burden of HPV infection and related diseases. ► HPV vaccine uptake is potentially associated with girls' future sexual behaviour. ► Low vaccine uptake among girls at highest risk of HPV would limit effectiveness. ► Effectiveness is lowest in more sexually active groups due to smaller herd effects. ► Inequalities may increase if HPV vaccination coverage is low and/or maldistributed.
