In vitro derivation of interferon-γ producing, IL-4 and IL-7 responsive memory-like CD4+ T cells

► We studied the in vitro development of memory-like CD4+ T cells. ► We characterized the phenotypic and functional qualities of memory T cells. ► We demonstrate that IL-4 and IL-7 promote proliferation in the absence of T cell receptor stimulation. ► We describe a potential system for CD4 memory T cell expansion for vaccines.
