Evaluation of novel Streptococcus pyogenes vaccine candidates incorporating multiple conserved sequences from the C-repeat region of the M-protein

► Common variant sequences in the C-repeat region of variant M-proteins are identified. ► We express and purify fusion proteins consisting of the most abundant of these variants. ► Antibodies raised against one of these constructs kills S. pyogenes in in vitro assays.
