Efficacy and safety of an inactivated vaccine against Salmonid alphavirus (family Togaviridae)

► We present efficacy and safety data from an inactivated vaccine against Salmonid alphavirus. ► The vaccine provides almost complete protection against infection in intraperitoneal and cohabitant challenge models. ► Significant protection is found in a field trial. ► The antigen can be included in polyvalent vaccines. ► The vaccine has an attractive safety profile.
