Role of antibody dependent cell mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) in Sm-p80-mediated protection against Schistosoma mansoni

► Sm-p80 has been exhaustively tested for its prophylactic and antifecundity efficacy. ► Levels of protection obtained are comparable to those recorded using irradiated cercarial vaccine. ► The role of ADCC was deciphered especially in the elimination of lung stage larvae.
