Rotavirus shedding in premature infants following first immunization

► We examine the shedding rates in premature infants after the first dose of RotaTeq. ► EIA and RT-PCR were positive at varying time points following immunization. ► Quantification of virus by cell culture was low. ► No symptomatic transmission to household contacts was detected in this study.
