Low opsonic activity to the infecting serotype in pediatric patients with invasive pneumococcal disease

► IgG and OI for the infecting serotype were tested in pediatric patients with IPD. ► IgG levels were higher than 0.2 μg/ml; OIs were <8 in all patients examined. ► Low opsonic activity correlates with low avidity antibodies.
