En quoi la vision des corps morts des attentats (Paris, novembre 2015) participe-t-elle à une hominisation des spectateurs ?

We hide death. French society tends more and more to conceal, if not to underestimate, the expressions of death and do as if death does not exist. Modern society has tried so hard to hide the dead body that the cruelty of its occurrence makes it all the more difficult to accept when one is confronted to it. In this sense, under the pretext of transparency, the recent bombings in Paris (November 13, 2015) was an opportunity for the public to be directly confronted with a concentration of deaths and direct raw images of death - without fictional filters or usual coffins. The prominent media coverage highlighted the ease of exposing victims' bodies, living or dead. In this article, we will question the meaning given to this sight of dead bodies, the position to be adopted by the physician (and mainly, forensic practitioners) in this profusion of images, and the status, in our contemporary society, of the deceased's representation.
