Contexte préparatoire et comportement de prédisposition dans les gestes violents d'apparence impulsive : évaluation des éléments de planification et de préméditation

This article aim is to highlight the presence of organized aspects in violent acts of an apparent impulsive tone, through a look into a few case studies. The reconstruction of the dynamic of these assaults might reveal elements of a planning that may be characterized with the presence of (1) preliminary behaviors and predispositions, (2) behavior intending to enfeeble known/familiar victims, (3) psychological implementation of a specific condition prior the acting out, (4) a peculiar organization in the victim capture system and (5) a system of rationalization or immunity designed to stem the negative consequences of criminal acts. These behaviors cannot be fully understood under the sole lens of bimodal “proactive/predatory/instrumental” vs “reactive/emotional/hostile/expressive” offenses and it requires nuanced notions about premeditation and planning. Detailed clinical observations will support the epistemological caution put on the veracity accorded to offender's speeches. These concepts are essential to any forensic practice, theoretical modeling on acting outs and violent acts, clinical exploration and risk and violence management.
