Amperometric enzyme electrodes of glucose and lactate based on poly(diallyldimethylammonium)-alginate-metal ion-enzyme biocomposites

► Poly(diallyldimethylammonium)-alginate-metal ion-enzyme biocomposites are prepared. ► The biocomposites are studied by microscopic/electrochemical methods. ► Amperometric enzyme electrodes of glucose and lactate are thus developed. ► The enzyme electrodes work well for biosensing of glucose and lactate. ► The enzyme electrodes work well as bioanodes for biofuel cells of glucose and lactate.
