Stability of diether C25,25 liposomes from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Aeropyrum pernix K1

► Archaeosomes made form C25,25 lipids are thermally stable. There is a low release of calcein from archaeosomes over a broad pH range. ► At temperatures higher than 65 °C the membrane of archaeosomes are in the fluid state. ► Diether lipids determine the biomembrane properties at higher temperatures.
