Microwave-assisted organic functionalization of silica surfaces: Effect of selectively heating silylating agents

► The MW effect strongly depended on the leaving group of the organosilanes. ► A distinctive MW effect was observed using methoxy- and p-anisylsilane in heptane. ► The MW effect on grafting reaction was not clearly observed in toluene solution.
