Microsphere valorization of forestry derived hydrolysates

► Hemicellulose rich wood hydrolysates were recovered from wood processing waste waters. ► Hydrolysates were formulated into well-defined microspheres. ► An all-edible emulsion microsphere preparation was elaborated. ► Microsphere properties were controlled via a statistical multivariate design approach. ► Hydrolysate origin controls the microsphere formation viability.
