The dynamics of a coherently driven localized exciton in a semiconducting single-wall carbon nanotube (SWNT) is investigated theoretically in terms of the perturbation treatment based on a unitary transformation. The decoherence rate of the exciton is obtained analytically and is compared with the one obtained with Born-Markov approximation. The results indicate that the decoherence strongly depends on the exciton-phonon coupling constant and the Rabi frequency of the coherently driving field. Furthermore, since the exciton-phonon coupling for SWNT is relatively strong and Born-Markov approximation becomes increasingly unreliable, we do need the numerically precise approach to treat the dynamics of the exciton in SWNT.
