Effect of crystallinity on the ultraviolet laser emissions of ZnO fabricated by electrochemical deposition

We investigated the effect of crystallinity on the ultraviolet laser emissions of ZnO film fabricated by electrochemical deposition. When the depositing voltage was set −0.9 V, XRD measurements showed that the hexagonal wurtzite-type samples were compact and homogeneous. Optical measurements showed that increased deposition time led to smaller band-gap energy. The ultraviolet emission was investigated for the sample deposited at −0.9 V and the results showed that the peak positions and intensities of the laser emissions varied with the deposition time.
