Host-sensitized multicolor tunable luminescence of lanthanide ion doped one-dimensional YVO4 nano-crystals

▶ Lanthanide ion doped one-dimensional YVO4 nanocrystals are prepared. ▶ The Eu3+:YVO4 nanoparticles exhibit the morphology-dependent luminescence. ▶ The Ln3+:YVO4 nanorods show multicolor tunable luminescence under UV excitation. ▶ Mechanisms for the YVO4 sensitizing or quenching of Ln3+ emissions are proposed.
