Water ice in the dark dune spots of Richardson crater on Mars

►Water ice was identified in the outer ring area of dark dune spots in Richardson crater. ►These rings are present on the surface longer than the CO2 ice in the surrounding terrain. ►Based on shadow measurements the thickness of the CO2 ice was around 10 cm.
